Interactive Section
This section respectively explores the painter's missionary journey across the ocean and observes the seasonal changes portrayed in landscapes paintings. It demonstrates the connection between the painter's creative motives and cultural relics. Cultural relics from the collection used in the immersive repertoire "Trail of Master Painter" and "Journey through the Four Seasons" will be extracted to provide the audience with an intuitive experience through digital interactive devices to discover the stories hidden within brush and ink.
Cultural Relics Interactive Table
Giuseppe Castiglione's 24 wonderful paintings are brought from the "Trail of Master Painter" theme to this cultural relic interactive table. The audience can freely choose what they want to watch, and observe the details and knowledge content of the works by zooming and clicking.
This hand scroll was painted in 1728 and is a grand-scale artwork created by Castiglione after entering the palace. The painting depicts the scene of hundreds of horses in various poses grazing on the expansive grassland in summer and autumn when the water and grass are luxuriant.
Employing Western-inspired depth-of-field effects, the artwork skillfully captures the landscape background, with the proportions and sizes of the horses varying according to their distance, presenting a distinctive fusion of Eastern and Western artistic styles.
3D Cultural Relics Interactive Installation
This digital installation presents to the viewers a 3D cultural relic model of "Bowl with bamboo and cranes in falangcai painted enamels" which appeared in the "Trail of Master Painter" theme.
When the Cube-See sensor on the table is turned over, the sensor will be linked with the "Bowl with bamboo and cranes in falangcai painted enamels" on the screen, and the viewer can get a visual experience like picking up a cultural relic.

This bowl is completely coated in white glaze, except for the underside of the ring foot, where the unglazed white body can be seen. One side of the exterior surface is decorated with a painting of lingzhi and immortal birds, symbolizing good wishes for immortality. The painting depicts a pair of red-crowned cranes standing on blue decorative rocks, surrounded by green bamboo trees, lingzhi, and pink camellias. This bowl combines the four elements of poetry, calligraphy, paintings, and seals, showcasing the refined leisurely pursuits of literati.
