Ever since the publication of Chajing "The Classic of Tea" written by Lu Yu (prox. 733-804) was circulated from the Tang dynasty, the activity of tea-drinking has been elevated from satisfying the thirst to developing into a series of discussion that was based on the concept of humanistic spirit. Generations of socialites and elites celebrated the aesthetic pursuits of drinking fine tea and distributing publications. The trend has continued to thrive till the present days and related activities also have flourished. The tea events further escalated into abundant ceremonies that demonstarted personal taste and interest. To immerse in the atmosphere, artworks from Hangzhou, Yixing, and Jingdezheng collected by the NPM are meticulously selected by the curators to present a ceremonial event of tea.
