Animation: Adventures of the Mythical Creatures at the National Palace Museum
Bang! The call of The Great Universal Map guides the animals drawn by Castiglione to an exciting adventure. Overcoming obstacles along the way, they learn to appreciate how Castiglione's art combines Chinese and European painting techniques. Documenting Victory in Etching
The National Palace Museum presents to the public Victory in the Pacification of Dzungars and Muslims, a series of copperplate prints originally drafted by several court artists, including Castiglione, and engraved in Paris. For this documentary, produced in 4k resolution, the curatorial team examined historical records and visited many countries to reconstruct the historical situation from which these engravings were produced. Using both objects in the NPM collection and representative objects from other cultural institutions, this documentary unravels the story of the great art collaboration between China and Europe during the 18th century.
