In the ancient times, people didn't have modern technology. How did they create such beautiful jade pieces? Let's find out together! This unit offers children with an opportunity to observe, touch, and compare the texture, firmness, and color of actual jade pieces. Using a hand manual, children will be introduced to the twelve ancient methods used to refine jade. Lastly, through a multimedia game, the children will be able to make jade pieces of their own!

The shape of jade has many forms. Move to a new angle. Close your eyes. Let your hands roam over the surfaces. Try using your imagination to visualize the jade's appearance. This unit invites children to use the clues of photos and their hands as guides to explore the shape of jade hidden in mysterious boxes, while asking the children to guess the functions of the different dynasty's jade pieces.

Just like us today, the ancient people also decorated themselves with jade. In the jewelry box, there are many jade ornaments from different years. Do you know how to wear them? This unit uses a magnet game to teach children how ancient jade was worn. In addition, using a light box, children can outline the patterns of jade and better understand the ingenuity of ancient craftsmen design.
