This inkstone is slightly yellowed, with an irregular square shape and raised surface edges, forming an inverted “U” shape. The lower edge of the inkstone surface curves in accordance with the shape of the box. The stone quality is moist and glossy, displaying natural green horizontal striations of varying depths. The inkstone surface features a rougher oval area for holding ink (bearing traces of vermilion), while the remainder is smoothly polished. Around the back of the inkstone, wide raised edges are present, and the central recessed area bears a four-character inscription “Made during the Yongzheng era” written in seal script.
