Description

This vessel has a wide mouth, straight walls, deep belly, a high ring foot, and beast head half-ring ear handles from which square earrings dangle. The belly is adorned with the left-right symmetrical coiled beast design, divided by a central flange. The ring foot is adorned with kui-dragon patterns. The coiled beast design was often seen on bronze gui food containers from the early Western Zhou, and excavations of such works were concentrated around the Baoji and Qishan areas in Shaanxi.
