NPM iPalace Channel Digital Train
What outcomes can be sparked when technology meets the museum?
The National Palace Museum's digital education journey can be traced back to 2000, when it began a series of technological innovations. In the ten years since, the NPM has digitized its collection, produced multimedia materials, experimented with interactive technology, and created new media art. In order to integrate digital resources onto one platform, NPM iPalace Channel was established in 2014. Using the newest technology, the channel serves as a platform for educators across Taiwan to co-produce educational content.
NPM iPalace Channel, a three-year project in running, which brings museum education to rural schools with through the powers of digital technology, has finally reached Eastern Taiwan. This exhibition will start from the beginnings of NPM's digital development and show the impact of technology on museum education. Digital learning is still rapidly evolving and will continue to influence museums to change. The exhibition seeks to inspire discussions about applications and impact of museum digital education.
